Vesper Peak

Vesper Peak offers two classic alpine rock routes perched high above the glacial blue waters of Lake Elan. After a scenic 3‑mile approach, climbers can choose between two six‑pitch lines: Ragged Edge (5.7) or True Grit (5.8). Both provide excellent traditional alpine climbing with airy exposure, solid rock, and sweeping views of the North Cascades. It’s a rewarding objective that delivers a true alpine experience from start to finish.
Participants should have prior climbing experience—either in a gym or outdoors—and must be able to lead belay. Familiarity with trad gear and multi‑pitch systems is helpful but not required. Because fitness plays a major role in alpine success, we encourage climbers to train consistently in the months leading up to their trip. A one‑day itinerary is available for experienced and well‑conditioned participants.
